The WAF, or Web Application Firewall, is a security solution designed to monitor, filter, and block malicious data traffic to and from a web application. Unlike traditional firewalls that protect network traffic, the WAF specifically focuses on the application layer, where most interactions between end-users and web applications occur.
The Peqi WAF works by analyzing every request that arrives at the web application and every response that leaves it, using a set of predefined rules to identify suspicious or malicious activities. These rules may include known attack patterns, traffic anomalies, or suspicious behaviors. When a request or response matches one of these rules, our protector can take various actions, such as blocking the request, sanitizing the data (by removing malicious parts), or simply logging the event for later analysis by our team.
