What is Virtual Patching?

The "Virtual Patching" feature of Peqi's WAF is an advanced and highly effective security technique for protecting applications against known and unknown vulnerabilities. This solution acts as a virtual bandage, quickly blocking attacks without the need for immediate changes to the application code.

How Does Virtual Patching Work?

When a vulnerability is discovered in an application, it may take some time for the development team to create, test, and deploy a secure patch. During this period, the application is exposed to potential exploitation by attackers, putting sensitive data and system integrity at risk. This is where Virtual Patching becomes crucial.

Through our WAF, Virtual Patching applies specific rules to intercept and analyze web traffic, identifying and blocking malicious requests that attempt to exploit known vulnerabilities. This is achieved by configuring filters and rules designed to detect and neutralize attack attempts, without the need for any modifications to the vulnerable application.
